  6. The things I've learned are the benefits you get such as weight loss and less stress. As well as what lack of sleep can cause. Such as diabetes and heart disease.

  7. How lousy I feel without it and how slow I am to just get over a cold. I'll post a couple of great links later from Kirk Parsley when he was on Barbell Shrugged.

  10. I think how important sleep is for hormone production, especially growth hormone, is my biggest takeaway this week. In fact, high intensity exercise is second only to sleep in hgh production. CrossFit + Sleep= Sexy!

  12. I learned how sleep deprived I really and that getting extra naps on the weekends still doesn't make up for the time lost during the week and can actually hurt your sleep cycle. Need to get those sleep bank hours up!

  13. I have learned that I am on the edge of being sleep deprived (need 7.5 - 9 hrs) - definitely not getting minimum 7.5 on a consistent basis. Will work on getting more sleep for stress reduction and improved performance.

  14. So..this week the hubs and I cancelled all extra activities, I was able to get some extra sleep and it feels SO good! I learned that with extra sleep I have way more energy, better mood, and think more clearly.

  15. Learned not to sacrifice sleep. For me for function properly during my day I have to have at least 6 hours, any less or more than 8 I have back aches or I crash. Getting the right amount of sleep helps me focus more on school work, particularly reading (I don't dose off as much)

  18. The most important things are learned about sleep are:
    1. Sleep detoxes your brain.
    2. We need to stay away from screens, distractions, and stress at bed time.

Worked all day at an academic meet and walked about four miles in the process! Whoa. Long day. I'm really looking forward to the pulled pork I have in the crock pot tonight!

  20. The more i sleep, the better i function throughout the day. I have more energy and i focus alot better when I get a good night sleep. Also there is no such thing as catching up with your sleep throughout the weekend, as well as sleeping pills are bad for you and they trick your brain into thinking you are falling asleep faster and longer. #TeamDedication

  24. I have learned some helpful tips for winding down like going into another room and doing something else. I also learned that naps are not as helpful as I thought. What I have been trying to do since the article this week is keep the same bedtime and wake up time... Even on the weekend.
