    Dedication - 338 (day 3 of 100% participation) - this week 22
Strong - 336 (stay strong and keep shooting for 100%) - this week 19

    Why CrossFit?

"CrossFit is a belief that we own who we are and when we accept ownership we can change who we are. This is what will take us to the next level of humanity: health, equality, strength of mind and body, and if nothing else the ability to comprehend the possibility of all these things being possible." - Asa

  27. Right now work is stressing me out so much, for all of the reasons listed in that article. I expect too much of myself, can't get enough rest, and take on way too many responsibilities. Today was especially difficult. A whirlwind of activity, responsibilities, and no time to relax. I did get to take a nice long walk with my mom and the dogs, though, and that helped a lot.

    Make time for yourself! #TeamDetermined

    1. Ask yourself if you enjoy stress. Some people find pleasure in it and hence it becomes who they are. Most would say this is ludicrous, but maybe we enjoy it subconsciously. If we have always put too much responsibility on ourselves, then we start to adapt and put more on ourselves. This stimulates that familiar and comfortable feeling that we have become accustomed to knowing, being stressed. You are an amazing person with an amazing responsibility to some amazingly brilliant children, so enjoy what you do and enjoy yours and your children's achievements.

    1. You have an active job, and you are moving all day. Incorporate a 5 min WOD into your evening when you can't make it up and know this advice is priceless so you aren't throwing anything away :)

Show up at 7:40 or 7:50, come in and move with us. Traffic moves surprisingly fast when we stop stressing, so use those times as an opportunity to meditate. 5 min of being angry and stressed is a lifetime. 5 min of relaxation and mental peace goes by in a split second. The traffic will move and you will see opportunities to move more quickly through it.

  29. Typically, work is a huge stressor for me. I'm a bit of a perfectionist and also tend to take on more than I need to. Running helps me relieve stress, but not getting my runs in also causes stress.

    Team dedication!!!

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. To strive for perfection is awesome. To accept we are not perfect is relieving. Praise yourself daily for the accomplishments you've made, even if they are no more than taking a couple things off your plate. Don't ever stress over not getting to enjoy a stress reliever. Once you've lightened your load and scheduled your runs, make them happen or have a healthy and enjoyable alternative that may not take as much time when "life happens", such as 5 min of meditation before bed.

      Delete
    2. Thanks Asa! I appreciate your feedback and will definitely make it a point to add some meditation time on days when I don't get to run!

  30. What troubles me is not being able to be strong minded. I am mentally weak I seriously need to start working on this because it takes over and is hard for me to focus. Tonight's lifting session was all mental and it was rough.

    Team dedication.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. When we admit to being weak minded, then we are much stronger in mind than we realize. You are much stronger than you realize or you wouldn't be doing what you are doing, knowing what you already know about your ability to achieve the goals you set for yourself. The most common cause of weak mindedness I have seen is distraction. Many of our most valuable relationships are destroyed by distraction, whether it is a relationship with family or a relationship with the barbell. Now the challenge is to figure out distraction vs. value. This is simple but not easy.
