  1. I am not keeping a journal. For every meal, I try to have multiple veggies and/or fruit, a good source of fat, and my protein. That's how I know I can keep it as close to paleo/zone as possible.
Journals are the best way to keep track of your succees!! It's tough to write down chat meals when you're journaling.

  2. Good Morning!

I am trying to keep a food journal. I do prep my meals for the week. So that also helps me stay on track because I always know what I am eating each meal. Carmen is right it does keep you honest if you are keeping a food journal because you hate to write down a cheat meal!!

  3. I wanted to keep a food journal but the "food journal" log in our packet was not realistic so I didn't bother. I realize now that my problem wasn't the meals I'm eating but the cheat snacks like desserts, chips and drinks. I wasn't considering them cheats since it wasnt a full meal ;) I thought my workouts would balance out the small cheats but not the case.
today is a good day to start a food journal...

  8. No journal, but it does make it a little easier living with someone who is also doing the challenge, even though she's on the other team. We make sure we eat right at home.. I need to start keeping track of my workouts so I can compare and track my strength gains.

  9. I have not been keeping a food journal, but I am going to start that today. It will do me alot of good.
On today's workout I got 240 reps, 1000m, and 225 calories on the airdyne. I had to switch to airdyne half way though the run on the third round due to my knee.

  10. I did not keep a food journal these first few days. I am trying to eat plenty of veggies, a good source of fat, protein and a little fruit in every meal. First few days went awesome. I am already feeling great!
However, I do think it would be best to log down my meal so I plan to start this week :)

  12. I keep a running/workout journal. When I start to worry about cheats, I use the myfitness pal app to help me stay strict. It really does help!

Today's workout was a 9mile run @ 8:45 pace with a few pickups. This coming week will be a recovery taper week before the half marathon next Sunday.

-I do document all my workouts and keep track of my runs but I haven't yet started a food journal. I need to and will in the near future because there is really no reason for me not to.

    - today's workout was great! 1 min to complete: 1 muscle up/ 5 handstand push ups/ 9 thrusters @33# then 3 min to complete 400 meter run.
8 rounds of that. Finished every round. I think I could've squeezed 1 more muscle up in there. Next time!

  15. No food journal (there's some sort of mental block about it). I'm not tempted by non-paleo food so its not hard to be accountable....its more about who in the house is doing the cooking (if you get my drift....). 7:30 start time at the Carrollton soccer fields this morning, so I missed what looks to be a great wod.....substituted a yard wod :) Go Team Orange!

  16. I do not keep a journal. I do a pretty good job with food prep and once the fridge and panty are cleaned out after that there is only Paleo approved foods. So even if I wanted to cheat I couldnt because there is nothing there.
Sat WOD 4 rounds of 400m and 4 rounds modified with 200m all other movements RX.

  17. No journal for me. I've been doing a Paleo-ish diet for a while now but it wasn't or hasn't super strict. I dont have much to cheat with in the house so no journal is necessary. Having food prepared already helps greatly when you are hungry and want something real fast. That keeps you from grabbing something bad.

  18. I started journal last challenge, but lost track of it 2 weeks in. However I was eating same thing so I knew what it was. Plus I take pics of all my meals just incase I forget what I eat. I guess it's time to bust out the journal again.
No WOD today, took a much needed rest day even though it kills me not to WOD!

  24. I have kept quite a few food journals in past but now I don't since I know what my food blocks should be. I think I will keep a journal for this challenge and would advise everyone to keep a journal for at least a week or more. It keeps you honest and shows where you could be slacking.

  25. I don't keep a food journal, but I hold myself accountable by taking it one meal and snack at a time. Plus, how awful I feel after cheating keeps me away from the bad stuff. It's never worth it.

  30. I am not currently keeping a food journal but will consider doing it again. I kept a journal in the NYNY challenge last year and it worked-I didn't cheat and lost weight. Accountability kept me going as we sent in our food journals weekly and I would hate to have to admit I cheated so I didn't cheat. I do keep a journal on the WODS and Oly lifting.
    WOD today was Lifting.

  32. I'm not, I try to make it simple and easy. I'm the total opposite if I write everything down I feel discourage. It feels more like a chore and I just don't do as good, I have 3 meal a day of 4 blocks.

  35. I do not keep a food journal. I'm usually good at keeping myself away from non-paleo meals. I prep my meals for 2 days and start fresh again I don't keep junk at home nor at work and whatever reps bring I stay away from im pretty good at saying NO to stay committed after a while it becomes a lifestyle :)

Today's WOD was great but tough maybe bc running isn't my favorite but the more I practice it the better...I was able to complete 7 rounds at RX and my very last round I modified :/

brunch: eggs, turkey bacon and a banana
Snack: strawberries and cashews, black coffee
Dinner: flank steak, green peppers, broccoli, sweet potatoes and Cashews

  38. I hate it, but for me to do my best I have to keep a journal. Otherwise I don't realize how much I'm eating :( It's REALLY helpful to have my lunch and dinner already portioned out when I leave the house in the morning though.
Did the WOD at home; modified the run by high knee step in place for 3 min:
    8 rounds of 5 sit-ups, 10 push ups, 15 air squats
