Brandy


Brandy- 5am athlete
 
Started CrossFit: I started cf at the beginning of November, joining was a birthday present to myself. 
Favorite class time: I enjoy the 5 am class it makes me get up and get it done. 
Greatest accomplishment since starting CF: I feel stronger, that is my biggest accomplishment. At first I thought I would never be able to do the things I am doing a month later. CF makes me feel like I can do anything. 
Favorite cheat meal: I had to change my diet back in August for medical reasons so my cheat meals seem silly. But if I cheat it's with dark chocolate and gluten free pizza. 
Outside of CrossFit: I am an elementary art teacher so art is a big part of my life. I enjoy outdoor activities kayaking, mountain biking and hiking. I'm a huge sci-fi nerd and I am always looking for a show to binge. 
Family: I am married with 3 fur babies. Two pit bulls one with special needs he has three legs, seizures and is half blind, Laddy. His big brother Eddie and a cat, Rusty. 
Motivation to keep coming to CF: Everyone has something. Mine is very personal but my health was keeping me from the things I want in life. I worked on my diet first and now I am adding crossfit and I see the changes in my body. That is now what motivates me. 
Favorite exercise or workout: Well I wouldn't say I have a favorite but I enjoy the results I get from ring pull ups and squats. 
What did you want to be when you grew up?  I really just wanted to be happy and have a family of my own. As far as career I wanted to be a teacher and I am!

  4. Super psyched to PR Grace in 3:06. Had some real ugly reps, but got thru it intact. Thanks to Asa & Connor for pushing me, counting and watching the clock. Gymnastic cash out - check.

    1. Walking into the box this morn, I had a 4 min plan in mind - Watch the clock and do one every 8 seconds. Watching you, that went out the window and it was just one at a time as fast as I could. Thanks for showing me the way!
