Are you getting enough fiber in your diet?

What does fiber do?
  • help us feel full longer
  • lower cholesterol and lipids
  • reduce risk of colon cancer
  • keep us regular

According to the Institute of Medicine, women need 25g/day and men need 38g/day.

Where is the fiber?
Eat more plants!
Good sources of fiber are: artichokes, raspberries, blackberries, dark leafy greens, broccoli, okra, cauliflower, sweet potatoes, carrots, pumpkin, asparagus, cabbage, pears, strawberries, oranges, bananas, blueberries, mangoes, and apples.
These are your carbs and are rich in micronutrients too (vitamins and minerals).
